Recently, we were contracted by a client to manufacture 2500 Front Bolt Inserts for their Pistol Front Bolt Assemblies. Several independent manufacturing processes were required to complete the sizable order. Utilizing our expertise and knowledge of machining processes, we were able to complete the job from start to finish, meeting the client’s requirements and delivering the parts in a timely manner.

Machined out of aluminum, the Front Bolt Inserts were 1.408 inches long and measured only 0.692 inches in outer diameter. The components also had very small features, including threads on the outer surface, which required great precision and attention to detail during production. The roughly cylindrical parts were manufactured in our Citizen Swiss L32 machining center, washed, tumbled, and finally anodized. O-Rings were installed, allowing us to deliver the components completed and to the client’s exact specifications. We strive for reliability, and the parts were delivered by our promised completion date.

Components are often measured by their performance under stress and ability to resist wear. At Superior Machine & Tool Co., Inc., we can be trusted with machining these critical components with great care and precision. We were recently contracted to produce a run of 500 Piston Bottoms for a client located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In addition to being critical parts of the client’s assemblies, the parts contained minute physical details and complex geometries. With our wide range of available machining processes, secondary services, and finishing capabilities, we were able to complete the project to our client’s approval.

Starting with stock material, we had to perform a number of machining capabilities to produce the parts as requested. Our knowledge of machining processes was critical in planning the manufacturing process. The stock was cut to size and turned on one of our Puma Lathes. Next, the cold rolled steel parts were drilled and deburred. Finally, the parts were delivered to the client. Our capabilities allow us to be a one-stop shop, taking jobs from initial machining through finishing and delivery.

At Superior Machine & Tool Co., Inc., we were tasked with machining a set of Path Reamer Shafts for a client in Indiana. The client asked for a run of 130 components. With our capabilities in manufacturing and finishing, we were able to complete the project and have it ready for the client within a few weeks of the original order date.

With seven Swiss Machining centers available at our facilities, we used our two Citizen Swiss L20 machines to manufacture these parts. Our various machining centers give the precision necessary in many manufacturing jobs, and they were perfect for the bar stock needed for these components. After machining, the Path Reamer Shafts were inspected to ensure uniformity and accuracy, washed, and packed to the client’s specifications. The components were ready within four weeks of the original order date, highlighting our ability to complete jobs quickly. In special cases, emergency and rush services are available.

At Superior Machine & Tool Co., Inc., our extensive machining capabilities make us a great choice for your precision manufacturing needs. We have the ability to go beyond simple CNC Machining processes, with Swiss Machining, Micro Gun Drilling, Multi-Axis Turning, and a variety of secondary and finishing services available. Recently, we were contracted to manufacture Female Fork Ends for a client in a run of 496 parts. These Fork Ends were machined from 12L14 steel. As is the case with many of our manufactured components, they featured very tight precisions, down to 0.010 inches. We were able to complete the job to our client’s requirements and in a timely manner.

With several multi-axis lathes available at our facilities, we chose to machines the parts on our Doosan TT1800SY lathe, one of several multi-axis lathes we have in-house. The client also required that a name be etched on the side of each part. Our wide range of production abilities allowed us to honor the client’s wishes, and we were able to finish the etching per their requirements. Few companies offer the range of capabilities that we do, with several vertical machining centers, CNC chucking and collet lathes, and Swiss machining centers available.

A great example of our abilities, we were recently contracted by a client to produce a run of Power Tubes for their sporting goods equipment. We succeeded meeting our client’s requirements with our knowledge and expertise of precision machining.

With an order of 3000 components, it was important for us to manage our production schedule and complete the job within the required timeframe. We utilized several precision processes, including Swiss machining for initial production, washing, and deburring. To create a small, 0.055 inch hole that originated on the small end of each power tube, we used our precision reaming and drilling capabilities. Finally, the aluminum parts were Type II anodized black to the client’s specifications.

At Superior Machine & Tool Co., Inc., we provide competitive lead times for machining components, often turning around projects in a matter of weeks. We were recently tasked with manufacturing 2400 Adjusting Screws for a client in the Fort Wayne, Indiana area. Despite the order requiring the production of thousands of components, we were able to turn the order around and have it ready for pickup within two weeks.

As is the case with many of our jobs, the component featured intricacies and precise geometries, including a threaded end and a small, 2.59 millimeter hole drilled through the cylinder perpendicularly. Using our Citizen Swiss L20 machining centers, two of the seven Swiss machining centers we have in-house, we produced the parts quickly and to the client’s specifications. The stainless steel parts are less than 51 millimeters in length, but despite their small size, we were able to produce them down to tolerances of 0.025 millimeters.

The client also required the parts be finished clean and free of burrs. Once again, we were up to the task. At Superior Machine & Tool, we have the ability to finish parts to a number of requirements, from simple cleaning to plating and anodizing. The client picked up their components, but delivery is available in certain cases.
